Stained glass church windows from the First United Brethren Church in Montpelier, Ohio.
These windows are original to the church that is believed to have been built in 1894.
Here's your chance to own a piece of 130+ year old Montpelier, OH history!
These windows are still installed in the church.
All windows have varying degrees of damage, however most are complete.
Inspection Date: Tuesday, Nov. 4, 4-5 pm ET
Buyer responsible for removal logistics, costs & liability including any potential shipping costs.
Removal time to be coordinated with the demolition contractor - security fence must be installed before removal. Demolition contractor will not remove windows.
Buyer is responsible for all aspects of window removal. Please note, there is no power in church building.
LOTS ARE LINKED: All lots are linked together. No lot will close/end until bidding is complete on ALL lots.
LOTS WILL AUTO EXTEND: If there are any bids placed once the bidding clock reaches 1 minute or less, the clock will reset to 3 minutes.
Items are sold as is, where is. No warranties or guarantees are expressed or implied.
15% BP will be added to the final bid of each item.
Extended bidding: This is a timed online auction. The bidding clock will reset to 3 minutes if there is active bidding once the bid clock reaches 60 seconds or less.
All lots in this auction are linked. This means that if any one lot receives a bid with 60 seconds or less left on the clock, all lots will extend. This allows bidders time to bid on a 2nd or 3rd choice lot in the event their first choice is bid out of their price range.
Payment is due at the end of the auction and will be charged to the credit card on file. Please be sure adequate funds are available. No partial payments, no chargebacks.
Public inspection is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, 4-5 pm ET
Load out will be coordinated with demolition contractor. Windows are still installed in the church. Buyer is responsible for all removal logistics, costs & risks and will be required to sign a liability waiver upon completion of the auction. Demolition contractor WILL NOT remove the windows.
The Montpelier First United Brethren Church is a historical name for a church in Montpelier, Ohio, which eventually became the First United Methodist Church after a denominational split and merger. The church began in the 1830s and built its first house of worship in 1853.
History of the Church
Early Beginnings:
The Montpelier United Brethren in Christ congregation was organized in the 1830s, predating the village's formal survey in 1845.
The Split:
In 1889, the United Brethren denomination split into "radical" and "liberal" factions.
Liberal Faction:
The liberal faction eventually merged with Methodists, becoming the First United Methodist Church.
Radical Faction:
The radical faction became the Central United Brethren Church, with their own building dedicated in 1893.
Original Building:
The historic brick structure on Empire and Jefferson streets, dedicated in 1894 by the liberal United Brethren (now First United Methodist), served the community for many years.
Recent History:
The building was occupied by the First Church of the Nazarene from 1963 to 1994 and then by the House of Prayer from 1994 to 2009.

2- Hidden Windows - We believe that there are two round windows located in the bell tower that were covered in plywood. You are bidding on these two as one lot and taking the risk that they are there and condition unknown.
